October 30,2010. A Disney Dream became a reality as they floated it out of the construction dock.
I can only imagine the ooh's and aah's that came from the crowd that morning. What a glorious sight!!!
As the Disney Dream made it's appearance, there were thousands in line waiting to catch a glimpse. After all, this is the first ship of it's kind, hosting a water coaster at sea, as long as many other firsts in the cruise industry.
Disney Cruise Line was NOT named Number 1 for no reason, you know :)
Of course, no member of the Disney Cruise Line fleet could have their "floatout" without a special appearance from Mickey Mouse himself, along with a spectacular fireworks display!!!
Now, just a week or two more, for the ship to receive it's final touches and the Disney Dream is scheduled to leave the shipyard. The plan is that the ship will be conveyed down the River Ems to the North Sea at the port of Eemshaven, The Netherlands, during the second weekend in November. The ship’s maiden voyage is scheduled for Jan. 26, 2011, sailing from Port Canaveral, Fla.
Email us today, if you would like to take part any of the first sailings of the Disney Dream! I know I do!!!
