Oogie Boogie Bash – A Disney Halloween Party

Trick or treat! Disneyland Resort is bringing a new event to guests of all ages this Halloween season: Oogie Boogie Bash – A Disney Halloween Party at Disney California Adventure park. This separate-ticket party treats guests to multiple new experiences that are fun for the entire family, from the new “World of Color” spectacular – “Villainous!,” to an interactive “Descendants”-inspired dance party, a stage show with Mickey Mouse, and a mysterious Disney villains walk-through experience.
Oogie Boogie Bash – A Disney Halloween Party will add to the fun of Halloween Time at the Disneyland Resort, celebrated from Sept. 6 through Oct. 31, 2019.
Highlights of the new separate-ticket event include:
  • “Villainous!” – The new “World of Color” show weaves a Halloween tale about a young girl named Shelley Marie. This twisted tale carries Shelley on an unforgettable journey, exploring the villainous side of Disney characters through fountains, lights, lasers, projections and special effects. “Villainous!” shows that, deep down, there’s a little villain in all of us.
  • Redwood Creek Challenge Trail – Transformed into a wondrous and ethereal world of Disney villains unlike anything seen before, Redwood Creek will be tricked out in a dreamlike environment. This new experience unfolds in a series of scenes, each creating a hauntingly beautiful dream-space of color, sound, light and shadows, as stories emerge from the darkest night to create an enchanting world.
  • Immersive Treat Trails – Enjoy trick-or-treating at the new, wonderfully wicked treat trails throughout the park. Iconic characters such as Mad Hatter from Tim Burton’s “Alice in Wonderland,” or even Oogie Boogie himself will surprise and delight. Additional treat trails will feature oversized cauldrons full of treats for all guests to enjoy.
  • DescenDance – A new pulsing party in the Backlot area of Hollywood Land is inspired by the popular “Descendants” franchise from the Disney Channel. As the DescenDance begins, a spell is cast, summoning the greatest dance crew from the Isle of the Lost to throw down and lead everyone in moves that are set to the biggest hit songs from the “Descendants” films.
  • “Frightfully Fun Parade” – The guest-favorite parade is coming to Disney California Adventure park for the first time! The Headless Horseman of Sleepy Hollow starts the procession, followed by Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse who lead the cavalcade of characters and many mischievous Disney villains who are ready to stir up some trouble along the parade route.
  • Mickey’s Trick and Treat show – Perfect for young guests, this new, interactive stage production invites kids of all ages to join Mickey Mouse and his pals as they throw a one-of-a-kind Halloween party! Enjoy dancing, not-so-frightening scary-tales, and candy at the Disney Theater in Hollywood Land.
  • Character encounters – Meet beloved Disney characters – and villains, too. You may be surprised at who you discover at this Halloween party, ready for photos and greetings!
Take note of these important dates and mark your calendars:
  • April 23: Tickets on sale to Disneyland Resort Annual Passholders, Disney Vacation Club members and Disney Visa card holders

Frightfully Fun Ways for your family to Enjoy Halloween Time at the Hotels of the Disneyland Resort

Spooky fun and full of delight, the Hotels of the Disneyland® Resort have terrifyingly tasty treats, amazing displays and ghostly entertainment, all sure-fire ways for your family to extend your Halloween Time experience, before, during or after a great day at the parks.

Disneyland Halloween Decor

Enjoy the Spook-tacular Seasonal Decor: In the lobby of Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa is a “spook-tacular” edible display of Halloween pumpkins. These pumpkins take a ghoulish form with Oogie Boogie, and are built from cereal treats, icing, chocolate, and fondant. Our talented pastry chefs used over 200 pounds of icing, 100 pounds of chocolate, and 300 pounds of fondant to create these incredible pumpkins.

Also during Halloween Time, experience ghoulish décor surrounding the Disneyland Hotel and discover the swashbuckler in you at the pirate-themed Disney’s Paradise Pier Hotel. The pirates have hoisted the Jolly Roger flag in the lobby, calling all buccaneers for fun at “Pirates Pier”!

Disneyland Resort Trick-or-Treat

Exclusive Trick-or-Treating for Hotel Guests: On select afternoons from October 2 through October 31, overnight guests of the Hotels of the Disneyland Resort are invited to drop in for a howling good time and exclusive, complimentary trick-or-treat festivities. Together, Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa, the Disneyland Hotel, and Disney’s Paradise PierHotel will have a treat map of locations, so little ghosts and goblins (and their parents) can visit all three hotels. The hotels are offering activities such as coloring pages, bat mask decorating and create-your-own pirate hat. Cookie decorating kits are also available for a fee. Hotel guests are encouraged to sign up at the Guest Services desk.

Disneyland Halloween Treats

Taste Yummy Halloween Treats: At Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa, you will find a holiday cart in the lobby serving up some scary and sweet Mickey-shaped cookies featuring iconic Halloween-inspired decorations. This cart is also serving up Halloween whoopie pies, jumbo cake pops, pretzel rods, a cookie box with Witch Finger cookies, and pumpkin pound cake. At The Coffee House at the Disneyland Hotel, you’ll find a chocolate Bat Cookie. Across all three hotels, the Red Poison Apple Glow Cube can be found at restaurant or quick service locations. The flavors of fall have arrived as well, with Pumpkin Spice Lattes at Surfside Lounge at Disney’s Paradise Pier Hotel and Pumpkin Muffins at The Coffee House at the Disneyland Hotel.

Disneyland Halloween Entertainment

Check out Eerie Musical Entertainment: Ghostly a capella performers, the Skeletones and the Cryptix, stroll and perform throughout the hotels of the Disneyland Resort, as well the Scareolers in Downtown Disney. You can enjoy harmonizing tunes such as “I Put a Spell on You” and “Grim Grinning Ghosts.”

Disney FASTPASS is one of the best ways for your family to make the most of your time at Disney Parks.
This landmark innovation was first introduced at Disneyland® Resort and Walt Disney World® Resort in 1999 as a way to provide Guests with faster access to the fun. Over the years, Disney FASTPASS has evolved and expanded and is used at our theme parks differently, based on the unique ways our Guests enjoy our sites around the world.

‘World of Color – Season of Light’ Is Glowing Into Disney California Adventure Park November 10

World of Color – Season of Light,” opens November 10 at Disney California Adventure park.

“Walt Disney’s Wonderful World of Color” made its television debut 55 years ago this week, bringing the wonder of full-color programming to people across the country and introducing the world to my personal favorite character, Professor Ludwig Von Drake. That landmark show served as the inspiration behind the original “World of Color” when it debuted at Disney California Adventure park back in 2010. Much like the TV anthology series itself, “World of Color” has been presented in a number of versions and variations over the years, and for the 2016 holiday season, we’re celebrating the warmth and wonder of the holidays with a sparkling new winter fantasy.
“World of Color – Season of Light” combines classic holiday songs with memorable moments from treasured Disney animated films to create an experience that wraps you in the warm glow of holiday magic. From its mesmerizing start to its stunningly beautiful finale, “World of Color – Season of Light” illuminates the night and weaves together an emotional tapestry that will fill your heart with the spirit of the season.

The show begins with the last leaves of fall giving way to the arrival of winter, as Mickey and his pals decorate their homes for Christmas. Themes of love, home and family run throughout “World of Color – Season of Light,” with special appearances by Lady and Tramp, Andy’s family from “Toy Story,” a “Mele Kalikimaka” with Stitch and his ‘Ohana and a “Feliz Navidad” from the Three Caballeros. At one point in the show, Goofy goes all out in a spectacular ode to over-the-top holiday light displays … until his ode turns to overload and everything short circuits, leading to a “Blue Christmas” with Sadness from Disney•Pixar’s “Inside Out.”

Everything builds to a stunning grand finale, illuminating the lagoon with the light of hope and filling our hearts with the spirit of peace, joy and goodwill to all. “World of Color – Season of Light” debuts November 10, 2016, at Disney California Adventure park and will be presented nightly through January 8, 2017.
